Ingredients


  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small can (5 ounce (141g)) green chile peppers diced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 pound 95% lean ground beef
  • 2-15 ounce (425g) cans dark red kidney beans
  • 15 ounce (425g) can diced tomatoes
  • 2 oz (56g) tomato paste
  • Chili powder, salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tablespoon cumin
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon oil

Method


  1. In a 12” skillet, sauté the onion, garlic and green pepper in 1 teaspoon of oil until soft and lightly browned.
  2. Add the meat to the skillet and brown. Drain off any excess fat.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil; then reduce heat and simmer for 40 minutes.
